Missionary Support

Luke Peterson (Costa Rica)

The Lord converted Pastor Luke Peterson around the age of 18. Early after his conversion, the Lord impressed upon him a call to pastoral ministry. Originally from North Carolina, Pastor Luke was ordained to the gospel ministry in 2012. He pastored a congregation in North Carolina from 2012 until 2017 when the Lord sent him and his family to Central America. In 2017, he and his family lived in Nicaragua, learning the Spanish language.

In the Lord’s providence, in 2018, he was sent to plant a confessional church in Liberia, Costa Rica. There he served for two years as a missionary. He was installed as a pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in November 2020 and currently serves the congregation full-time. The Lord, in his kind providence, has opened up a door to return to minister in Liberia, Costa Rica at the Reformed Baptist Church of Liberia. The Petersons were sent out from EBC to the church in Liberia, Costa Rica in September 2025.

Pastor Luke is married to his beloved bride, Courtney, and they have two young children.

Stan Surbatovich (Montenegro)

Niksic is the second largest city in Montenegro, yet when the Surbatovich’s arrived in 1996 they didn’t know of a single other Christian of any denomination in the entire city. The Lord has been pleased to bless their labors and to see a church planted and growing. Their outreaches beyond the Lord’s Day services include Evangelistic sports camps, Bible studies and evangelism with University students. They often host teams of Christians from other countries who come to assist in these ministries and to learn from the experience and fellowship with Stan and Vicki and the church there. The Surbatovich’s have 5 adult children, all living in the States.
