1st & 2nd Chronicles are a continuation of the Historical books of the OT covering the same time period as 2nd Samuel and 1st & 2nd Kings—with a special focus upon the tribe Judah… Jewish tradition credits Ezra with having written the book of the Chronicles sometime around (450-400 BC), after the return of the remnant from captivity in Babylon
The book of the Chronicles might seem like a repetition of what had already been written… But, the Chronicles were written to recapture the hearts of God’s covenant people so they might not just come back to their homeland—but come back to their God… The writer does this by reminding God’s people of their rich covenantal heritage…
Bryan Wheeler Pastor Bryan Wheeler was converted to Christ in 1973. For most of the 20 years that he served in the U.S. Air Force he was actively involved in church-based preaching and teaching ministries in the U.S. and overseas. Pastor Wheeler was ordained into the gospel ministry in 1987 and was called into full time ministry in 1989. He is the pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Verona, VA. He and his wife Maureen were married in 1968 and the Lord has given them 6 children and 4 grandchildren.
