A Theology of Prayer #3

By: Bryan Wheeler Scripture: John 14:6; John 14:1; Luke 11:1-4 Series: Boot Camp Basics for Believers
The disciples asked, (Luke 11:1-4>“Lord, teach us to pray.” So Jesus gave them a pattern to follow when they prayed… Three essential elements of true prayer… 1st – A Conscious Sense of who and what we are in ourselves (v.4) 2nd – A Confident Sense of Jesus Christ as our mediator – (Jn 14:1,6) – We are accepted and our prayers are made acceptable—only because of who Jesus is and what He has done and continues to do (Jn 14:13-14; 15:16; 16:23-24). 3rd – A Biblical Mandate concerning the will of God (1 Jn 5:14-15)
