Chapter 8 – Christ Our Mediator
Paragraph 5 – Christ The Perfect Mediator – 1 Timothy 2:5 … “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.”
WHY do we need a MEDIATOR? – because we have a serious, moral dilemma;
Ø God is an infinite Spirit—we are finite, physical creatures who are spiritually dead…
Ø God is holy—and we are sinful…
Ø God is the Law Giver—we are by lawbreakers…
Ø God is the Ruler of all things—we are full of rebellion…
Ø God is loving—we are hateful…
So we need someone to fix our problems and settle the controversy… Jesus Christ is the perfect Mediator between God and man—because He is both God and Man… This is the genius of the gospel…
Bryan Wheeler Pastor Bryan Wheeler was converted to Christ in 1973. For most of the 20 years that he served in the U.S. Air Force he was actively involved in church-based preaching and teaching ministries in the U.S. and overseas. Pastor Wheeler was ordained into the gospel ministry in 1987 and was called into full time ministry in 1989. He is the pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Verona, VA. He and his wife Maureen were married in 1968 and the Lord has given them 6 children and 4 grandchildren.
