There is no protection from God’s wrath… and there won’t be any escape from God’s judgment for people who practice sin… If sin is what you do for a living—YOU are the person Paul writes about in (v.4) – who is ‘despising the riches of God’s goodness…’
What does it mean to despise the riches of God’s goodness? – {καταφρονω kataphroneo} (lit.) – means to think down or against… Paul is saying,
‘Do you think little… or… think nothing of the riches of God’s goodness, His forbearance… and longsuffering? – – – ‘Will you keep on treating God’s overflowing kindness with contempt? … Are you going to keep on depreciating God’s great blessings? … Disregarding God’s multiplied mercies?
