The Fruit of the Spirit is Love (for God’s People)
Text: Galatians 5:22-23
We’ve been considering the WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT in a person’s life, and we’ve seen that everything begins—when He gives us a new nature… and pours God’s love into our hearts… LOVE—is the first fruit of the Spirit…
We said last time that the first focus of our love—is toward God… The FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT causes us to: delight in and take pleasure in God’s Person… it causes us to appreciate and be interested in God’s Word and works… The second focus of our love—should be directed toward our fellow man… Last time we looked at our responsibility to love our neighbor as ourselves… We are even to love our enemies—we are to, ‘…bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who spitefully use and persecute us.”
This evening, I would like for us to see how important it is to LOVE GOD’S PEOPLE—the people that Jesus died for…
