1st – Jesus was a Man of ACUTE MORAL SENSITIVITY – unlike any of us, Jesus was very, very sensitive to sin… Remember, Jesus was holy and perfect in His Manhood—so He could see and feel sin—that other people were blind and oblivious to… Truth is—you and I are comfortable with things that for Jesus—would be hateful, disgusting, and intolerable…
2nd – Jesus was a Man of INTENSE EMOTIONAL TENDERNESS – He was not only sensitive to sin—He was sensitive to sinners… Jesus had a tender regard to the pain and misery that sin brought into people’s lives… He felt so deeply for the sufferings and troubles of others, that they became His own… (v.4) “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows…”
Bryan Wheeler Pastor Bryan Wheeler was converted to Christ in 1973. For most of the 20 years that he served in the U.S. Air Force he was actively involved in church-based preaching and teaching ministries in the U.S. and overseas. Pastor Wheeler was ordained into the gospel ministry in 1987 and was called into full time ministry in 1989. He is the pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Verona, VA. He and his wife Maureen were married in 1968 and the Lord has given them 6 children and 4 grandchildren.
