Man Made in God’s Image 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith – Chapter 4 – Of Creation In What Way(s) Is Man Unique In God’s Creation? – Or, are we as humans, just a higher form of a primate animal or are we different? – We are VERY DIFFERENT, because we bear the image of God! – ‘being made after the image of God, in knowledge, righteousness and true holiness.’ Whatever we are—God is the original and we are copies (Genesis 1:26-28; 5:1). MAN is a unique image-bearer and representative of God (a living, visible replica) to the rest of creation of what God is like.
