What was the estate wherein man was created? – ‘Man was created in an estate of sinlessness and happiness in which the Lord God entrusted him with care for the garden of Eden and forbade him to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, upon pain of death.’ – Shorter Catechism
S. Waldron, Modern Exposition Of The 1689 Confession, (p.85) – ‘As he is the image of God, man’s whole duty is to be the image of, to reflect, or represent God on earth. Our moral duty is to be like God.. As man is the image of God, his sin is always the misrepresentation of God. The sinner perversely represents God. Our representation of God is either accurate or slanderous, but never morally neutral. This being so, God can never be indifferent to wicked behavior. He is committed to clear His good name and avenge Himself upon those who persist in misrepresenting Him.’
Bryan Wheeler Pastor Bryan Wheeler was converted to Christ in 1973. For most of the 20 years that he served in the U.S. Air Force he was actively involved in church-based preaching and teaching ministries in the U.S. and overseas. Pastor Wheeler was ordained into the gospel ministry in 1987 and was called into full time ministry in 1989. He is the pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Verona, VA. He and his wife Maureen were married in 1968 and the Lord has given them 6 children and 4 grandchildren.
