In this passage, we are given a series of contrasting moral pictures, illustrating some of the real-life distinctions between those who are righteous and those who are wicked, between people who are godly and people who are godless. The Bible tells us that sin is lawlessness—and the focus of all lawlessness is God… SIN is not loving God as He deserves to be loved… SIN—is not giving God first place in our lives… SIN—is looking for our happiness and pleasure in created things—rather than the Creator of all things… SIN—is not treating others the way that we want them to treat us… SIN—is knowing what we are supposed to do—but not doing it.
