The portion of Scripture may be one of the most difficult passages in the Bible… It may have been that Peter had this passage in mind when he wrote,
2 Pet 3:15-16 … ‘Consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.’
So, if this passage is so hard to understand, why don’t we just skip it and move on to something else, something easier, something more encouraging? Because,
· Romans 7 – tells us that we don’t have to be perfect to be a Christian…
· Romans 7 – tells us what we need to do when we fail in our struggle with sin…
