(1st) DEFINITIVE SANCTIFICATION – is the initial, instantaneousness work of the Holy Spirit in the new birth, whereby the Spirit using the Word… definitively and irreversibly separates the sinner unto God – Colossians 1:12-13
(2nd) PROGRESSIVE SANCTIFICATION – is the on-going process of separation… The Holy Spirit separates the saint from sin and the world—for God… The Spirit also constantly energizes the saints to ‘work out (their) own salvation…’ – Phil 1:1,6; 2:12-15.
(3rd) PERFECT SANCTIFICATION – is the final stage of our salvation when God perfectly changes us into the image of Christ… and we become totally free from sin and its effects. Perfect sanctification doesn’t happen in this life… (1 Cor 15:51-57; 1 Thess 3:12-13; 1 Jn 3:2).
