The apostle Paul begins this chapter—writing about one thing… and then in mid-sentence, he takes a mental detour that begins in (v.2) and lasts until (v.13). In this ‘holy digression’—Paul brings up a fascinating subject which he calls a ‘MYSTERY’—this mystery is nothing other that the mystery of grace that God had given to him – to write down for the church at Ephesus—and for us. Paul uses the word ‘MYSTERY’ to describe something that was once a SECRET that has now been revealed… Something new and wonderful—that was hidden—and has now been uncovered – μυστήριον – 1 Corinthians 2:7-10.
