Special Revelation (2 Pet 1:16-21; Heb 1:1-2) – is God revealing Himself in ways other than in creation and conscience – ‘…those former ways of God’s revealing His will unto His people being now ceased.’
Special Written Revelation – was necessary to:
(1) Preserve the Truth – Deut 31:9-13,19-21; Lk 1:1-4
(2) Propagate the Truth – Rom 1:13-15; 1 Tim 3:14-15).
(3) Bless and Protect His Church – ‘…for the sure establishment and comfort of the church against the corruption of the flesh, and the malice of Satan, and of the world…’ – Is 8:20; 2 Tim 3:13-17; 1 Jn 4:1-6.
Bryan Wheeler Pastor Bryan Wheeler was converted to Christ in 1973. For most of the 20 years that he served in the U.S. Air Force he was actively involved in church-based preaching and teaching ministries in the U.S. and overseas. Pastor Wheeler was ordained into the gospel ministry in 1987 and was called into full time ministry in 1989. He is the pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Verona, VA. He and his wife Maureen were married in 1968 and the Lord has given them 6 children and 4 grandchildren.
