In this first section, the apostle Paul raises some of the objections that the Jews would have raised about his teaching in Chapter 2.
1st Objection (v.1) – If circumcision makes no difference—what good is it then to be a Jew? What good is circumcision? Paul answers these questions… (v.2) “Much in every way! Chiefly because to them (the Jews) were committed the oracles of God.”
The chief blessing… the first and greatest advantage that God ever gave to the Jew—is that He had given them His ORACLES… “…man shall not live by bread alone; but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
