The Sovereignty of God – #1

By: Bryan Wheeler Scripture: Genesis 1; Genesis 2 Series: The Sovereignty of God
A real simple way of thinking of the sovereignty of God is to think of it as—God being God… The sovereignty of God, is God doing what He pleases, whenever He pleases, in a way that is always consistent with His character as God… The biblical doctrine (teaching) of the Sovereignty of God is one of the most humbling, and yet at the same time, one of the most comforting truths found in the Bible. In one of his letters to the Dutch theologian Erasmus, Martin Luther wrote; ‘Your thoughts of God are too human.’ Luther meant that Erasmus was putting human limitations upon God—and God has no limitations.
