Some of our greatest struggles, disappointments, and problems… come as a direct result of our failure to know and do the will of God…
(-) “Do not be unwise” – (lit.) Don’t be mindless… Don’t follow your feelings, or your desires, or your instincts – but think… Think about what you’re doing… Think about what you should be doing… Think about how dumb you are by nature… Think about your great God and Savior… “Do not be unwise…”
(+) “But, understand what the will of the Lord is” – bring your thoughts together so that you might be able to know and appreciate the will of God for your life… so that you might be able to say, ‘Lord, not my will, but Your will be done…’
