Next Tuesday, Nov 6th is Election Day… This election may be the most important one in our life time… There really is a lot at stake… Proverbs 14:34 – this verse contains what I believe is an important biblical principle when it comes to our moral and civic responsibility, as citizens of this nation. As citizens of the United States of America, we have many blessings and privileges…
One of the privileges we have is the freedom to VOTE. In biblical times (and long after), rulers were appointed, or in some way they ascended to positions of authority. But we have the privilege to vote for those people we want to represent us in our government. This privilege comes from God—and one day He could very well take it away from us, especially, if we don’t exercise our privilege in a responsible way. With every privilege there’s responsibility—and with responsibility, there’s accountability—to God.
Proverbs 14:34 can be divided into two parts… (+) National Righteousness Exalts… (–) National Sin Degrades…
