1st – Freedom to Obey God – as the only Lord of the conscience, which must be instructed and governed by His Word (2 Tim 3:13-17).
Martin Luther at the Diet of Worms – ‘Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason – I do not accept the authority of the popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other – my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. God help me. Amen.’
2nd – Freedom From Unbiblical Obligations and Demands of Men We are free in Christ, don’t let yourself come under the bondage of men – Matthew 15:1-9… Galatians 2:4-5,16… 5:1.
Bryan Wheeler Pastor Bryan Wheeler was converted to Christ in 1973. For most of the 20 years that he served in the U.S. Air Force he was actively involved in church-based preaching and teaching ministries in the U.S. and overseas. Pastor Wheeler was ordained into the gospel ministry in 1987 and was called into full time ministry in 1989. He is the pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Verona, VA. He and his wife Maureen were married in 1968 and the Lord has given them 6 children and 4 grandchildren.
